Green Lane Borough, part of the Upper Perkiomen Valley, is located in some of the most beautiful and open areas of Montgomery County.
Founded in 1875, Green Lane was home to the area’s first iron forge but quickly became a hub of rail and road transportation, cigar making, ice harvesting and tourism. It now finds itself the key connection between two major trail systems, the Pennsylvania Highlands Trail Network and the Perkiomen Trail. When complete, this system will provide a continuous walking path from the New Jersey State Line near Phillipsburg to the Maryland line west of Gettysburg and on to the Appalachian Trail and even Georgia!
Green Lane Borough is governed by Green Lane Borough Council, which meets the second Thursday of each month in the Green Lane Borough Office at the Green Lane Fire House at 7 pm.
Borough office hours are Tuesday – Thursday 9:30 am – 12:30 pm.
