The Borough Council of the Borough of Green Lane will discuss and possibly adopt a proposed ordinance, which is summarized below, at its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Borough Hall at the Green Lane Firehouse, 214 Main Street, Green Lane, PA.

Summary of Proposed Ordinance
The proposed ordinance of the Borough intends to effectively regulate and control all non-domestic wastewater discharges and issuance of associated permits with regard to discharge wastewater which comprise wastes other than domestic sewage.
The proposed ordinance amends Chapter 319, Sewers and Sewage Disposal, of the Green Lane Borough Code and adds definitions of “Best Management Practices” and “Permittee.” The proposed ordinance also adds provisions regarding “prohibited discharges” and includes limitations on pollutants, including Five Day Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BODs), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Ammonia-Nitrogen (NH3-N), Total Phosphorus, and Total Dissolved Solids. Furthermore, the proposed ordinance adds provisions regarding discharges subject to Green Lane Marlborough Joint Authority approval. In addition, the proposed ordinance adds provisions addressing connection permits, the procedure upon finding discharge to be harmful and the right of the Borough to inspect. The proposed ordinance includes sections regarding “repealer and ratification,” “severability,” and “enactment and effective date.”
